Pharmacy Purchase Manager

Experience Required: Minimum 3+ Years

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, purchasing, and managing pharmaceutical supplies to ensure uninterrupted availability of medicines and medical consumables. The role focuses on cost control, vendor management, inventory optimization, and compliance with hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage procurement of medicines, surgical items, and medical consumables.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy, stores, and finance departments for purchase planning.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and pharmaceutical suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
  • Ensure timely delivery of stock to avoid shortages.
  • Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and slow-moving items.
  • Maintain purchase records, invoices, and documentation accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with drug control regulations and hospital standards.
  • Conduct vendor performance evaluation and market price comparison.
  • Prepare monthly purchase and stock reports for management review.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and brands.
  • Vendor negotiation and cost control skills.
  • Inventory management and forecasting ability.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / Hospital ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy / Science / Commerce.
  • Additional certification in Supply Chain Management is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in pharmacy purchase or hospital procurement.
  • Prior hospital experience preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
