The Pharmacy Supervisor / Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational, administrative, and commercial performance of multiple pharmacy branches within the assigned region. This role ensures full compliance with regulatory standards, optimizes store profitability, drives customer service excellence, and supports pharmacy teams to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, deep understanding of retail pharmacy operations, and the ability to coordinate effectively between management and branch teams.
A valid UAE driving license is mandatory for this role, as the position requires frequent travel between branches to ensure efficient supervision and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Branch Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of assigned retail pharmacy branches to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant functioning.
- Monitor adherence to company SOPs, DHA/DOH/MOH guidelines, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Ensure optimal staff allocation, duty scheduling, and leave planning across branches.
2. Sales and Business Performance
- Drive sales performance to achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
- Analyze sales trends, category performance, and customer buying patterns to improve store profitability.
- Implement strategies to enhance upselling, cross-selling, and in-house brand promotion.
- Ensure consistent performance in online sales channels, including E-Commerce and Q-Commerce platforms, and coordinate with the relevant teams to enhance online order fulfillment and service speed.
3. Inventory and Stock Control
- Ensure all branches maintain proper stock levels of pharmaceuticals, OTC, vitamins, supplements, and non-pharma products.
- Monitor slow-moving, fast-moving, and critical items and take timely action to optimize inventory.
- Oversee expiry management, GRN checks, stock transfers (IBT), cycle counts, and minimize shrinkage and wastage.
- Ensure procurement coordination for any unavailable items and avoid customer dissatisfaction due to stockouts.
4. Customer Service & Quality Assurance
- Ensure branches maintain high standards of customer service professionalism, counseling, and patient care.
- Train and guide staff to handle customer queries, complaints, and special requests with courtesy and efficiency.
- Ensure pharmacy premises, displays, merchandising, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
5. Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance evaluation for pharmacists, technicians, and branch support staff.
- Identify training needs and coordinate with HR and Learning & Development for upskilling staff.
- Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
6. Compliance and Documentation
- Verify accuracy of controlled drug registers, insurance prescriptions, audits, and documentation as per UAE healthcare regulations.
- Ensure adherence to cash handling, billing procedures, and company financial protocols.
7. Reporting & Communication
- Submit weekly and monthly reports to management on branch performance, staff issues, operational challenges, and improvement recommendations.
- Serve as the communication link between branch teams and management to ensure seamless coordination.
Requirements:Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail pharmacy operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or branch management role.

- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, retail sales strategies, and UAE healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency in POS systems, MS Office, and inventory management tools.

Mandatory Requirement
- Valid UAE Driving License – This is essential, as the role requires regular branch visits, on-ground supervision, and operational mobility.
- Candidates without a UAE driving license will not be considered.
