Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations.
- Assist with medication intake, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring proper documentation in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration checks, and proper storage procedures to maintain safety and compliance.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions, explaining usage instructions, and supporting patient care initiatives.
- Support hospital-based pharmacy operations with critical care experience, including handling acute care medications and participating in medication administration processes.
- Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, intake logs, and pharmacy documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy plans and ensure timely delivery of pharmaceuticals.
Skills
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management protocols.
- Experience working within LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacies or hospital settings, particularly in critical care or acute care environments.
- Skilled in aseptic technique and sterile compounding for IV infusion preparations.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care, education, and communication.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures within hospital or clinical settings.
- Ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
