Duties for This Position
Under the direction of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs crucial duties that help the pharmacy run efficiently. The technician accurately and proficiently prepares prescription orders and verifies prescription information, including proper dosage. Enters patient and order information into the pharmacy system. Processes and submits insurance claim information. Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifies quantities against invoices and keeps pharmacist apprised of stock needs and shortages.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Graduation from accredited School of Pharmacy Technology
Certification as Certified Pharmacy Technician
Experience
One year experience preferred.
Required Skills
Exceptional customer service and computer skills required. Excellent interpersonal capabilities and ability to communicate effectively are essential. Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to handle stress in a demanding environment are also necessary.
