Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventory, and providing exceptional patient service. Your expertise will contribute to delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients across various healthcare settings. Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions accurately, including compounding sterile and non-sterile medications using aseptic techniques.
  • Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and documentation of pharmaceuticals.
  • Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, clarifying medication orders, and updating patient records with medical terminology knowledge.
  • Dispense medications in accordance with hospital protocols, LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy standards, and critical care requirements.
  • Administer medications via IV infusion under supervision, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and safety guidelines.
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering questions about medication usage, potential side effects, and proper administration procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards related to medication administration, hospital experience protocols, and acute care procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management.
  • Prior experience working in LTC pharmacy, hospital settings, or critical care environments is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of IV infusion techniques and aseptic procedures for sterile compounding.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy in documentation.
  • Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills focused on patient service.
  • Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) is required; ongoing education in pharmacy practice is a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
