Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
- Accurately enter prescription information into pharmacy computer systems.
- Label, package, and organize medications for patient pickup.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient information.
- Provide customer service by answering questions and directing patients to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Maintain inventory by stocking shelves, ordering medications, and checking expiration dates.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations set by the Food and Drug Administration and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Keep the pharmacy workspace clean and organized.
