Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately.
- Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and proper storage conditions.
- Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions and updating patient records with accurate information.
- Prepare and deliver IV infusions using aseptic techniques, adhering strictly to safety protocols for sterile compounding.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting medication administration efforts.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensation, inventory logs, and compliance records in accordance with hospital policies.
- Follow all safety procedures related to aseptic technique, critical care protocols, and hospital regulations to ensure patient safety at all times.
Requirements
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management.
- Prior experience working in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital settings is highly preferred.
- Critical care experience or background in acute care environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, and medication administration procedures.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and communication.
- Ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Certification as a pharmacy technician according to state or national standards is required; ongoing education in pharmacy practice is a plus.
