Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our busy retail pharmacy team in San Bernardino, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about customer service and providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in the pharmacy field.

While experience in retail pharmacy is a plus, it’s not required. We are willing to train the right candidate! Your primary role will focus on filling prescriptions, with opportunities to expand into other areas like prescription typing, processing, and patient management as you grow with us.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prescription Filling: Accurately prepare and dispense medications, ensuring all prescriptions are filled in a timely manner.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Prior Authorization Support: Assist in submitting and managing prior authorization requests when necessary.
• Medication Management: Maintain accurate patient records, including medication profiles, ensuring proper storage, and handling of medications.
• Pharmacy Operations: Assist pharmacists in daily duties, including medication inventory management, assisting with phone orders, and processing patient payments.
• Patient Education: Provide basic medication counseling, including instructions for use, possible side effects, and proper storage.
• Technology: Operate pharmacy management software and POS systems for transaction processing, including credit card and phone payments.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside pharmacists and other team members to ensure smooth operations and optimal patient care.

Requirements:

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred, but not required.
• Retail pharmacy experience a plus.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required (or in the process of obtaining).
• Ability to speak Spanish fluently.
• Basic computer skills (experience with POS).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both in person and on the phone.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Honest, reliable, and hardworking with a passion for learning and growing in the field.
• Tardiness is not acceptable, and punctuality is key to maintaining a reliable and professional work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
