Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including IV infusions and aseptic compounding.
- Assist with medication intake processes, ensuring proper documentation and patient information verification.
- Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication instructions and answering basic medication-related questions.
- Maintain inventory levels, check expiration dates, and restock supplies to ensure seamless pharmacy operations.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to uphold safety standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate medication administration and ensure proper patient care protocols are followed.
- Document all medication transactions meticulously in compliance with hospital or LTC pharmacy policies.
Experience
- Prior pharmacy technician experience in a hospital or LTC pharmacy setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice.
- Experience with critical care environments or acute care units enhances your ability to thrive in this role.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and patient service best practices is advantageous.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., CPhT) is required or strongly preferred.
