Role:
Assists in the provision of pharmacy services.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Enters patient data and prescription information into computer system.

Operates cash registers and performs transactions, ensuring patients receive accurate receipts.

Verifies patient information on new Rx's.
-
Answer all incoming phone calls except those from a physician's office.

Packages unit dose medications for nursing homes.
-
Prepares mail out prescriptions and Rx delivery orders.
-
Performs related work as required.
Performance Measures:
-
Assist pharmacist by entering prescription information into computer system to free pharmacist to fill prescriptions or counsel with patients.

Make certain all waiting customers have been helped with prescriptions or assisted with questions on other product selection.

Responsible to have all prescriptions to be delivered or mailed each day, packaged, and recorded by the proper time.

Respect the privacy of and keep confidential all patient information.

Maintain professional relationship with customers and other employees.

Periodically inspect customer waiting area to keep it neat and orderly.

Observe all Clinic policies and guidelines.
Knowledge & Skills:

Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Education: Equivalent to a high school education.
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Physical Requirements:

Requires frequent standing for extended periods of time.
- Basic computer skills, 10 key and basic math skills are required.
- Attention to detail and excellent customer service is a must.
