Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the health and wellness of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Medication Preparation and Dispensing:

 Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications.

 Accurately label and package prescriptions.

 Measure, count, and mix medications according to prescriptions.

 Ensure prescriptions are filled correctly and in a timely manner.

Customer Service:

 Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns.

 Assist customers with over-the-counter medications and health-related products.

 Handle transactions, including cash register operations and processing insurance claims.

Inventory Management:

 Maintain accurate records of inventory, including ordering and restocking medications and supplies.

 Conduct regular inventory checks and manage expired or damaged products.

 Ensure the pharmacy is clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Compliance and Safety:

 Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including pharmacy laws and guidelines.

 Ensure proper storage and security of medications.

 Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Administrative Tasks:

 Manage and update patient records and prescription files.

 Assist with the pharmacy’s daily operations, including data entry and managing phone calls.

 Support pharmacist with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Education and Licensing:

 High school diploma or equivalent.

 Valid pharmacy technician license in Indiana is required.

 Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) is preferred.

Experience:

 At least 2 continuous years of experience as a pharmacy technician is required.

 Knowledge of pharmacy software and systems is an asset.

Skills:

 Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

 Excellent communication and customer service skills.

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

 Proficiency in basic math and computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

 Ability to stand for extended periods.

 Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

 Manual dexterity to handle small objects and operate pharmacy equipment.
