Job Description

Madison Valley Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time pharmacy technician to work in our New retail pharmacy within the hospital. This person is expected to perform at a high level in our friendly supportive work environment where we focus on safely and efficiently providing excellent pharmacy services to our community. This pharmacy technician is expected to complete all standard pharmacy technician tasks and will take on more extensive responsibilities as we grow. This pharmacy technician position will be full-time within our retail pharmacy. Previous experience and/or certified pharmacy technician license is not required to apply. We are looking for someone that enjoys a daily challenge keeping busy working close with others has a desire to keep learning and takes pride in the service they will provide to our community. “Employee performs all duties in a manner consistent with the mission and values of MVMC.”

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Interpret; transcribe; and process patient prescriptions to be checked by a pharmacist.
• Follow established policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
• Help manage pharmacy inventory.
• Handle point of sale transactions and insurance billing.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Strong verbal; professional; and written communication skills.
• Interact pleasantly; effectively; and professionally with patients; providers; and coworkers.

• Demonstrate sound judgement; patience; and professional demeanor.
• Comply with all HIPAA regulations and policies.

• Computer literacy; we work with Rx30; MS Office; EMR; internet applications and standard office equipment.
• Self-directed; complete assignments accurately; thoroughly and with minimal oversight.
• Detail oriented; organizational skills and the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.

Additional Information

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Pass background and drug screening. Current Montana licensure as a technician in training within 30 days of hire. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within 1 year of technician in training licensure.
