Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling of prescriptions in accordance with aseptic technique and safety standards
- Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, storage, and proper documentation
- Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions and ensuring accurate medication orders
- Prepare IV infusions and other sterile medications for critical care and acute care patients using aseptic techniques
- Maintain detailed records of medication administration, including documentation for hospital or LTC pharmacy settings
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and hospital protocols during medication dispensing and patient interactions
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting overall patient care initiatives
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably within LTC pharmacy or hospital environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic technique
- Critical care experience is highly desirable for supporting acute patient needs
- Familiarity with IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding practices
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care and clear communication
- Ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools
