Pharmacy technician/ Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview

Amity Pharmacy is a locally owned independent community pharmacy committed to providing personalized, patient-centered care. We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician / Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to support daily pharmacy operations and help deliver exceptional service to our patients and healthcare partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys working in a community setting and values building relationships with patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in accurate and timely prescription processing and dispensing
  • Enter prescription information and insurance data into the pharmacy system
  • Process third-party billing claims and resolve insurance rejections
  • Answer phone calls and assist patients with refill requests and general questions
  • Support inventory management, medication ordering, and stock rotation
  • Maintain medication shelves and monitor expiration dates
  • Assist with prior authorizations and communication with prescribers’ offices
  • Provide excellent customer service at drop-off and pick-up
  • Handle patient information in compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
  • Support medication synchronization, refill reminders, and adherence programs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workflow

Qualifications

  • Active Connecticut Pharmacy Technician registration or eligibility to obtain registration
  • PTCB / CPhT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous retail pharmacy or community pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with insurance billing and prescription workflow is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
