Pharmacy Technician Instructor

Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Pharmacy Technician Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience and a passion for teaching and mentoring students. As a Pharmacy Technician Instructor, you will play a vital role in preparing students for successful careers in pharmacy settings by providing high-quality instruction in both classroom and hands-on environments.

Skills Instruction:

  • Teach students pharmacy technician fundamentals, including prescription processing, medication preparation, and pharmacy calculations
  • Instruct students on proper medication handling, storage, labeling, and inventory procedures
  • Demonstrate retail and hospital pharmacy operations and workflow processes
  • Train students on pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and medication safety standards
  • Assist students in learning prescription terminology, abbreviations, and medical terminology
  • Provide instruction on customer service and effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Teach proper use of pharmacy software systems and electronic records
  • Prepare students for national certification exams and career readiness
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic support, guidance, and feedback
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, and instructional records
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and educational standards in the classroom and lab environment

Experience:

  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience required
  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, pharmacology, and medication preparation procedures
  • Experience in retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy settings preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a classroom environment
  • Proficient with pharmacy software systems and basic computer applications
  • Passion for helping students succeed and develop professionally
