Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician Instructor, where you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of pharmacy professionals. You will be responsible for developing curriculum, utilizing innovative learning technologies, and fostering a supportive learning environment that prepares students for successful careers in pharmacy practice.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students the skills needed to work as a pharmacy technician, including pharmacy math, medications, prescription processing, pharmacy laws, and medication safety.
  • Lead classroom lessons and hands-on lab activities in a way that is easy for students to understand and follow.
  • Use online learning systems to post assignments, track grades, and monitor student progress.
  • Train students on pharmacy computer systems, insurance billing, customer service, and daily pharmacy procedures used in retail and hospital pharmacies.
  • Give quizzes, tests, and skills assessments to measure student progress and help students prepare for national certification exams.
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and classroom documentation.
  • Work with other instructors and staff to improve the program and student learning experience.
  • Use real-life pharmacy examples and workplace situations during lessons and lab activities.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, HIPAA rules, and educational standards for pharmacy technician training.

Qualifications

  • Proven 5+ years of experience in pharmacy technician roles in retail/clinical pharmacy settings, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, pharmacy calculations, medication classifications, pharmacology, and therapeutic use drugs and the body: basic biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamicsand medication preparation.
  • Ability to create and develop curriculum, adult education strategies, and the use of learning technology tools such as LMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy software systems used in clinical settings and laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, compounding medications, acute pain management, and pain management protocols.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to student learning and professional development.
  • Prior experience teaching adult learners, individuals seeking career advancement or upskilling opportunities, and students referred through community partnerships is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly while fostering an engaging learning atmosphere. Embark on this rewarding journey to educate future pharmacy technicians by combining your expertise with innovative teaching methods!
  • Ability to teach three evenings per week, including two online sessions and one in-person session, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
