JOB SUMMARY:
Works under the direction supervision of the pharmacist at all times. Responsible for
reading, interpreting and recording physician drug orders. Responsible for drug
security, safety and distribution in outpatient pharmacies. Computer literacy with
commonly used programs.
The clerical duties are many and varied requiring good organizational and
communication skills. Works with the business office, medical records and nursing
staff in completing varied administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED is preferred with experience in a clerical or
secretarial position. State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
Requires knowledge of computer operations, insurance adjudication, drug
names, pharmacy math and customer service experience. National Pharmacy
Technician Certification is a plus.
