Pharmacy Technician - Part Time

About Us:

Florida Rheumatology Associates, Inc. is a specialty medical practice focused on treating patients with rheumatologic conditions. We offer in-house medication dispensing to better serve our patients and are seeking a dependable Pharmacy Technician to join our team.

Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician will support our in-house dispensing operations by processing, filling, and managing prescriptions while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent patient care. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and utilize the practice’s pharmacy dispensing software
• Process and fill prescriptions accurately under provider supervision
• Label, package, and prepare medications for patient dispensing
• Communicate with patients regarding prescriptions, refills, and questions
• Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing and claim processing
• Work with insurance companies to resolve medication issues and rejections
• Maintain proper documentation and records in compliance with regulations
• Monitor inventory and assist with medication stock management
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and office policies

Qualifications:

• Active Florida Pharmacy Technician registration required
• Previous pharmacy or medical office experience preferred
• Experience with prescription processing and insurance billing strongly preferred
• Ability to learn new pharmacy software systems quickly
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:

Part-time hours (schedule to be discussed)

Additional Expectations:

Must be a team player and willing to assist with overall office workflow

May be asked to assist with additional duties as needed

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
