Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem

Job Description

Per Diem (days, evenings, and weekends)

Working only under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, candidate will assist the Pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Current pharmacy technician certification preferred;
• Computer experience desirable;
• Communicate effectively (orally and in writing);
• Perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods;
• Work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff;
• Handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule;
• Ability to set priorities, solve problems, respond quickly to emergency requests;
• Assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients;
• Must successfully pass a practical examination certifying ability to prepare medication and sterile products;
• Must demonstrate aseptic technique.
