Gentry Health Services is are seeking a full-time, day shift, Board Registered or Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician for our Closed-Door Pharmacy in Avon Lake, Ohio. This position is responsible for assisting in non-clinical areas of pharmacy operations while providing outstanding customer service to patients over the phone.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create prescription medication orders from prescription referrals received
• Perform dispensing and shipment of prescription medication orders
• Conduct outbound prescription refill reminder calls and setup orders for delivery along with assist in contacting prescribers and patients via phone and fax
• Investigate insurance billing options to ensure eligibility and coverage for patients
• Prepare and submit claims to ensure timely reimbursement
• Resolve account discrepancies and prepare adjustments and refunds for approval
• Check-in wholesaler drug orders and post into inventory

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician preferred, but not required.
• Able to obtain by examination, at minimum, status as a qualified pharmacy technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 180 days of hire date
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in pharmacy support preferred
• National PTCB Certification preferred
• Experience in medical billing preferred
• Must successfully pass a BCI&I and FBI background check, drug screen, and register with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy to be eligible for employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Proficient level of operating general office equipment with a strong attention to detail
• Must be dependable, punctual and a team player
