Job Summary:
The Ph.D. Guide in Education will supervise and mentor doctoral research scholars pursuing research in various fields of Education. The role focuses on promoting high-quality, ethical, and innovative research in educational philosophy, pedagogy, curriculum development, teacher education, educational technology, policy, and administration. The incumbent will contribute to strengthening the research culture and academic excellence within the department and the university.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Ph.D. scholars in the field of Education as per University and UGC regulations.
- Assist scholars in identifying research gaps, developing proposals, and framing objectives.
- Conduct regular review meetings to evaluate research progress and provide academic feedback.
- Guide students in research design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Ensure research complies with academic integrity and ethical standards.
- Encourage and guide scholars to publish research papers in reputed academic journals.
- Participate in Research Advisory Committee (RAC) and doctoral committee meetings.
- Contribute to the department’s academic and research initiatives, including organizing workshops, FDPs, and conferences.
- Engage in independent and collaborative research projects in the field of Education.
- Support institutional efforts to enhance quality research output and academic reputation.
Eligibility Criteria (As per UGC Norms):
- Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Education from a recognized university.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in higher education.
- Publications: At least two research publications in refereed journals (UGC CARE / Scopus / Web of Science listed).
- Other Requirements: Must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by the University and UGC for recognition as a Ph.D. Supervisor.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong subject expertise in Education and allied areas such as Educational Psychology, Curriculum Development, Teacher Education, or Educational Technology.
- Ability to mentor and inspire research scholars.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Strong academic writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of recent trends, policies, and innovations in the field of Education.
Desirable Attributes:
- Prior experience in supervising M.Phil. or Ph.D. scholars.
- Participation in academic research projects, seminars, and conferences.
- Involvement in policy formulation or educational consultancy projects.
- Membership in recognized educational or research associations.
