Endocrinology Associates of Roanoke, VA is a privately owned specialty practice, founded in the Roanoke valley in 1976, that provides clinical care to people all over the valley and beyond. Our team of full-time phlebotomists and the onsite laboratory are the final component for our patients in clinic and help us to achieve our goal to provide the most complete care to our patients possible. We strive to help our patients by creating a positive learning atmosphere that will give them confidence in their ability to maintain at-home care and in the care they receive at Endocrinology Associates.

Our practice is looking for a full-time Phlebotomist, preferably with at least one year of experience or more to join our team. We are in need of solution-oriented, self-motivated, individuals who can work cohesively as a part of our Phlebotomy Team here at Endocrinology Associates. Our top priority is hiring people with the right personality and work-ethic to complement the team we already have and help to enhance our team's ability to provide quality care to patients.

Salary varies based on individual merits

Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients
  • Label and organize collected specimens for laboratory testing
  • Register patients into the information systems and order the appropriate tests as requested by the physician
  • Follow proper laboratory techniques and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures
  • Verify patient information and ensure proper identification before collecting samples
  • Communicate effectively with patients to provide clear instructions and address any concerns or questions
  • Help maintain a constant state of readiness in the department to meet all standards for accreditation from COLA, CLIA

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
  • Certification as a phlebotomist required
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures related to phlebotomy
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of specimen handling requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
