Phlebotomist

Overview

Join Credible Staffing as a Phlebotomist proudly serving U.S. veterans across Puerto Rico. In this role, you will provide professional blood collection and specimen processing services within VA healthcare facilities, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who served our country. Your expertise, compassion, and attention to detail will directly impact the quality of care our veterans receive every day.

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood specimens from veterans through venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques, following established aseptic procedures and safety protocols
  • Verify patient identity before every procedure in strict accordance with VA patient safety standards
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a veteran population that may include elderly patients, individuals with service-related disabilities, and those with behavioral health or chronic illness conditions
  • Process, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper handling and timely delivery
  • Document all specimen collections, test orders, and patient interactions accurately using electronic health record systems
  • Explain collection procedures clearly and patiently to veterans, including specialized test instructions when required
  • Recognize and immediately report any adverse patient reactions to supervisory personnel
  • Maintain phlebotomy stations in a clean, disinfected, and fully stocked condition at all times
  • Rotate between VA clinic locations across Puerto Rico as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of hands-on phlebotomy experience in a clinical or healthcare setting
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Experience with geriatric, behavioral health, or veteran patient populations is a strong plus
  • Genuine commitment to serving those who have served our country
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and composure in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to rotate between clinic sites across Puerto Rico

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
