Position Overview

West Volusia Family and Sports Medicine is actively seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join our growing Primary Care office. This is a part-time position, including every other Saturday. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team focusing on Family and Sports Medicine.

General Duties

• Perform phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to the appropriate laboratories
• Document patient care services using daily logs, patient records, and outside laboratory forms
• Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, and providing support
• Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients
• Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
• Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
• Monitor inventory of samples and supplies
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Work under the supervision of a medical technologist

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience
• Previous experience as a clinical technician or in a related field
• Familiarity with common medical terminology
• Experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong organizational skills
