Job Title: Phlebotomist – Inpatient/Laboratory
Location: New York, NY 10016
Job Type: Contract | Travel or Local
Weekly Hours: 37.5 Hours
Pay Rate (Local): $20/hr – $28/hr (Based on Experience)
Travel Pay Rate: $26/hr – $31/hr (Based on Experience)
Available Shifts:
5:00 AM – 1:00 PM (2 openings)
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1 opening)
4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (1 opening)
Monday – Friday
Rotating weekends (every other weekend required)
Holidays required
7.5 hours per day
37.5 hours per week
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to provide venipuncture and specimen collection services in a high-volume hospital environment. This role requires precision, strong patient care skills, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting, including inpatient units, outpatient services, and laboratory departments.
The ideal candidate will ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and transport while maintaining compliance with hospital protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection
Verify patient identity prior to specimen collection
Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens
Ensure timely and proper transport of specimens to the laboratory
Maintain infection control and safety standards
Document procedures accurately in hospital systems
Provide professional and compassionate patient care
Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory compliance guidelines
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program
Certifications:
Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) – Required
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of recent phlebotomy experience in one or more of the following settings:
Hospital
Commercial Laboratory
Blood Bank
Strong venipuncture technique
Knowledge of specimen handling and processing procedures
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work early morning, evening, and rotating shifts
Professional communication and patient interaction skills
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
