RATE OF PAY: $20-$25 PER HOUR/DOQ

INTRODUCTION:


The David C. Wynecoop Memorial Health Center is a small, patient-centered health center committed to delivering compassionate, high quality care to our community. Our team is supportive, collaborative, and dedicated to creating a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors.


DCWMHC is seeking a reliable, detail oriented Phlebotomist to join our care team. The ideal candidate is skilled in blood collection, committed to patient comfort, and able to work effectively in a small, fast paced clinical setting.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages
  • Properly label, process, and store specimens for laboratory testing
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols
  • Prepare and maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment
  • Provide a calm, reassuring experience for patients during collection
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to support smooth daily operations
  • Assist Lab tech/scientist with the smooth operation of lab & laboratory equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
  • Current phlebotomy certification (CPT or MA-P) required
  • Previous clinical or lab experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and quality care


In accordance with the requirements of the Health Center Manual, employee of this position, as a condition of employment, must document immunity to Rubella & Measles. Influenza vaccine is recommended for all health workers in contact with patients.


The employee must be suitable for Tribal employment in your position as determined by fingerprint check results and appropriate background investigation. An incumbent found not suitable after hire will be removed from this position.


The employee is required to operate a tribal-owned or leased motor vehicle, commercial motor vehicle, rental motor vehicle or privately owned motor vehicle in the performance of official duties. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.


Tribal Preference Policy:
In accordance with the Spokane Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance Tribal Preference will be observed in hiring.


Veteran’s Preference: It shall be the policy of the Spokane Tribe to provide preference in hiring to qualified applicants claiming Veteran’s Preference who have been discharged from the United States Armed Forces with honor and under honorable conditions.
