PART-TIME PHLEBOTOMIST
Monday and Tuesday 7a-7p (12 hour shifts)
Phlebotomist Duties and Responsibilities:
- Arrive timely to obtain blood specimens, and specimen pick-ups from clients
- Safe and timely transportation of these specimens to the appropriate testing site
- Coordinate requests, pick-ups and travel to clients to ensure the quickest turnaround time to deliver excellent care while maintaining professionalism at all times
- Follow all regulatory and governmental requirements (e.g. HIPAA, Patient Rights, CLIA, OSHA)
- Secure, store and centrifuge specimens per laboratory specimen integrity procedures
- Perform routine and STAT phlebotomy daily; may include weekends, holidays and being on-call
- Accept all orders from Dispatch as needed
- Act as a liaison between laboratory and client to provide continuous high quality customer service
- Adheres to dress code, including wearing photo/ID badge
- Utilize company issued automobiles and other devices such as those for specimen tracking for company purposes
- Assist with accessioning, order entry, coding, filing and general upkeep of the lab
- Fill supply orders for clients and phlebotomy needs
- Participate in continuing education and competency testing programs to ensure that laboratory and State standards (as applicable) are met
- Maintain competency in DOT-regulated shipping procedures for all samples and materials
- Document and calculate mileage that is complete, accurate and honest
- Submit payroll documentation timely and in accordance with company policy
- Keep personal vehicle operational at all times. May be required to use personal vehicle to transport specimens. Current automobile insurance is required.

Skills and Qualifications
- Professional certification in phlebotomy from a recognized program
- Ability to successfully draw bloods from patients with minimal or no complications
- Empathy and interpersonal skills from working with patients
- Detail-oriented and committed to ensuring patient's confidentiality
- Excellent motor skills and the ability to stand for long periods of time
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Data entry and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
License/Certification:
- phlebotomy certification (Required)
