**Job Overview:**
This position will be responsible for support of the research department and clinical research coordinators. This position requires excellent organization skills and attention to detailper protocol requirements. Any data collected and documented will be done according to ICH/GCP guidelines and strict protocol adherence is maintained. Detailed reporting to Research Coordinators and Research Management is also required.
**Responsibilities:**
Clinical / Phlebotomy & Research Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients and study participants using proper techniques
- Ensure patient identification and specimen labeling accuracy
- Prepare, handle, and transport specimens according to established protocols
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after blood draws
- Maintain phlebotomy equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of work areas
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques across diverse patient populations
- Knowledge of clinical research processes, including informed consent and data collection
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), HIPAA, and regulatory compliance standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills, including electronic medical records (EMR) and data entry systems
- Document procedures and update patient or participant records accurately
- Collect and record research data, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Maintain study documentation, including case report forms and regulatory binders
- Ensure compliance with IRB protocols, GCP (Good Clinical Practice), and study procedures
- Assist investigators with study visits, data entry, and follow-up activities
**Qualifications:**
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health science or related field preferred
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
- Current phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA, or equivalent) preferred or required based on state regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or laboratory setting preferred
- Prior experience in clinical research or healthcare environment strongly preferred
- Experience with specimen processing, handling, and storage protocols

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
