Duties

• Collect blood samples via venipuncture and skin puncture using proper aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
• Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately, adhering to established protocols for labeling, storage, and transportation.
• Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates for patient assessments.
• Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, including patient examinations and basic diagnostic tests.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace following infection control standards and laboratory safety procedures.
• Document patient information, test results, and procedural details clearly in electronic health records.
• Provide compassionate patient service by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen handling processes.
• Proven experience in laboratory techniques and clinical laboratory settings.
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care and effective communication.
• Proficiency in specimen collection methods such as venipuncture and blood sampling.
• Ability to accurately take vital signs and understand physiology fundamentals.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques to ensure safe practice.
• Previous hospital or healthcare facility experience is highly desirable to thrive in this role.
