Phlebotomist/Specimen Collector

Job Description

Core Diagnostic Laboratories is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Lab Technician/ Phlebotomist to be a part of our growing laboratory team! The main laboratory is located in Birmingham, AL. This collector position will be onsite at a client's office in Fort Payne, AL.

MUST HAVE PHLEBOTOMY EXPERIENCE. Candidate must be comfortable handling biohazardous materials with provided PPE.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, quality control and patient testing on moderate complexity lab equipment.
• Collect blood samples
• Accurately order all tests listed on the patient requisition form
• Appropriately process samples according to the testing criteria
• Prepare samples for shipment to laboratory
• Follow HIPPA regulations and Universal Precautions
• Evaluate sample integrity (clots, hemolysis, etc.)
• Communicate issues to management in a timely manner

Skills:

• Phlebotomy
• Attention to detail
• Sample processing experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Efficient in computer operations
• Previous lab experience is required

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
