BioCorp Clinical Laboratory is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Full-Time and Part-Time Phlebotomists / Patient Service Center (PSC) Coordinators to join our growing team. This hybrid position combines clinical phlebotomy responsibilities with front office, administrative, and patient service duties in a fast-paced physician office and laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and thrives in a busy setting while maintaining exceptional patient care, accuracy, and professionalism. This individual will serve as the face of BioCorp Clinical Laboratory by providing outstanding customer service to patients, physicians, and healthcare partners while ensuring laboratory operations run efficiently and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company regulations.

- Additional weekday, evening, or Saturday hours may be available based on operational needs.
- Occasional overtime (for full-time employees) and travel to other Patient Service Centers (PSCs) may be required.
Position Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT-I) License
- Valid California Driver's License with reliable transportation and current automobile insurance
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of recent phlebotomy experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a physician office, outpatient laboratory, hospital, or Patient Service Center
- Experience processing laboratory specimens
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Experience with insurance verification and laboratory requisitions
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Required Clinical Knowledge
The successful candidate should demonstrate competency in:
- Proper patient identification procedures
- Venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
- CLSI Order of Draw standards
- Specimen processing, centrifugation, storage, packaging, and transport
- Laboratory requisition review and verification
- Verification of patient demographics, physician information, diagnosis codes, insurance information, and laboratory test orders
- Infection prevention and exposure control procedures
- OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, California Department of Public Health, and company compliance standards
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Recognition and management of patient emergencies including syncope and adverse reactions during specimen collection
Phlebotomy Skills
Candidates should have experience collecting specimens from:
- Adult patients
- Pediatric patients
- Geriatric patients
- Bariatric patients
- Oncology patients
- Diabetic patients
- Patients receiving anticoagulant therapy
Must demonstrate competency using:
- 21G and 22G Straight Needles
- 21G and 23G Butterfly Needles
- Venipuncture of both antecubital veins and hand veins
Essential Job ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Perform safe, accurate, and efficient venipuncture and capillary blood collections.
- Verify patient identity using BioCorp Clinical Laboratory's patient identification procedures.
- Review laboratory requisitions for completeness and accuracy.
- Properly label, process, centrifuge, package, and prepare specimens for transport.
- Maintain specimen integrity according to laboratory requirements and stability guidelines.
- Operate laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, barcode printers, and specimen processing equipment.
- Dispose of biohazardous materials according to OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Respond appropriately to patient emergencies following established protocols.
Front Office & Administrative Responsibilities
- Open and close the Patient Service Center according to scheduled business hours.
- Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and courteously.
- Return voicemail messages promptly.
- Schedule patient appointments accurately.
- Respond to emails professionally using proper grammar and communication.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Complete daily logs, inventory logs, and monthly activity reports.
- Monitor office inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Rotate inventory and monitor product expiration dates.
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional patient care during every interaction.
- Provide professional assistance to physicians, medical assistants, office staff, and patients.
- Answer patient questions within the scope of practice.
- Maintain excellent communication with provider offices.
- Represent BioCorp Clinical Laboratory professionally at all times.
- Build positive working relationships with physician offices, clients, and healthcare partners.
Computer & Technical Skills
Employees should possess basic working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows

- PDF software
- Internet navigation
- Printing, scanning, copying, and faxing documents
- Basic printer troubleshooting, including toner replacement, drum replacement, Wi-Fi setup, scanner functionality, and routine office equipment maintenance
Training will be provided for BioCorp Clinical Laboratory's software, laboratory systems, and operational procedures.

Additional Responsibilities
Employees may be required to:
- Work overtime when business needs require (primarily full-time positions).
- Cover additional Patient Service Centers throughout the region.
- Travel between BioCorp Clinical Laboratory locations.
- Assist with laboratory courier duties when necessary.
- Participate in new hire training, annual competencies, continuing education, and company meetings.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management to support laboratory operations and patient care.
