Photography Grip & Social Media Assistant (Seasonal & Flexible)

About the Role

We are a premier photography studio specializing in sports & studio photography. We need a high-energy Grip & Social Media Assistant to help us conquer the sidelines and dominate our digital presence.

This role splits its time between two major tasks. On shoot days, you are the technical muscle helping manage gear, lighting, and moving parts on location. Off shoot days, you’ll be the creative brain managing our Social Media channels, creating content that connects with local athletes and their parents. Because our schedule revolves around school sports seasons, the work fluctuates—offering high intensity during peak months and great flexibility and downtime during the off-season.

Key Responsibilities

• On-Field & Studio Grip Support: Assist the Lead Photographer with setting up, moving, and breaking down portable lighting modifiers, stands, and heavy gear on fields and in gyms.
• BTS Content: Capture high-quality behind-the-scenes video and photos during sports shoots to show the energy of our studio in action.
• Social Media Management: Own our primary social channels.Plan, edit and post creative, engaging Reels, Stories, and posts tailored to our audience of high school athletes and parents.
• Order Delivery: Transport and deliver packaged product orders to local schools.

What We’re Looking For

• Initiative & Learning: Someone who is wiling to take initiative, work independently and anticipate needs of the business as they grow in the role.
• The Tech & Muscle: A basic understanding of photography/lighting gear, and the physical stamina to safely lift and carry up to 30 lbs of equipment across sports fields.
• Social Media Savvy: Proven experience creating and editing vertical video content (Reels/Stories) specifically optimized for Facebook and Instagram.
• The Logistics: A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are required for travel between schools and order deliveries.
• Seasonal Flexibility: Availability to work long, fast-paced days during our peak school sports seasons (July–August, January–March, and April–June), with plenty of flexibility during the slower months.
