Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Photography Teaching Artist to inspire creativity and foster artistic growth among diverse youth populations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curriculum, lead innovative photography classes, and nurture a love for visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will bring passion for teaching, strong classroom management skills, and experience working with children and young adults.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging photography curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels
  • Lead hands-on photography workshops that encourage experimentation, storytelling, and technical skill development
  • Manage classroom environments to ensure safety, positive behavior, and inclusive participation
  • Provide individualized tutoring and mentorship to students to support their artistic growth
  • Collaborate with community partners to integrate cultural themes and community narratives into lessons
  • Maintain organized lesson plans, student portfolios, and class materials
  • Foster a welcoming space that promotes creativity, confidence, and self-expression among all students

Requirements

  • Proven experience in curriculum development for arts education or related fields
  • Strong background in photography with a portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency and artistic vision
  • Experience teaching or tutoring children, adolescents, or adults in classroom or workshop settings
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children with special needs or early childhood education backgrounds
  • Familiarity with arts disciplines such as ballet, theater, sewing, or dance is a plus but not required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire students of varying ages and backgrounds

Pay: $150.00 - $175.00 per day
