Systemsd is dedicated to delivering high-quality, scalable web applications for a global audience. We are looking for a talented and motivated PHP Developer to join our in-house development team. This is an onsite position, where you’ll work closely with our designers, developers, and product teams to build dynamic, secure, and high-performing web applications.

Job Summary:

As a PHP Developer at Systemsd, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend systems, APIs, and web applications. You’ll work primarily with modern PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter, contributing to projects that emphasize performance, scalability, and great user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using PHP and modern frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter).
• Create, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs and back-end services.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless user experiences.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Work with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Debug and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX, DevOps, and project management.
• Contribute to architectural and technical discussions to improve product quality.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in PHP development.
• Strong proficiency in PHP 7/8 and at least one framework (Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter).
• Experience in RESTful API development and integration.
• Strong understanding of MySQL and database schema design.
• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and basic front-end integration.
• Proficiency in Git version control.
• Experience with Composer, Blade templates, and MVC architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, or cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Must be available to work onsite (no remote or hybrid options).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Laravel Queues, Events, and Middleware.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest).
• Understanding of microservices architecture and message queues (RabbitMQ, Redis).
• Experience in Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Knowledge of Shopify, WordPress, or CMS integration is a plus.
