Purpose of the role:

The Web Developer is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function and according to the company’s specifications. Strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.

The role is a .NET web developer predominantly C# based. This role will allow the candidate to work in multiple areas with a standard three-tier architecture. It will also include CMS development as part of the role.

Job Role:

· write code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PHP or JavaScript

· decide on the best technologies and languages for the project

· test sites in different browsers and environments

· problem-solve

· fix bugs in existing projects

· test new features thoroughly to ensure they perform the correct task in all cases

· run performance benchmarking tests

· learn and test new technologies, frameworks and languages

· stay up to date with new trends and advancements in web development

· build and maintain databases

· carry out code refactoring and optimisation of existing code

· document code, so other developers can understand and contribute to it

· Design information architecture within a website.

· Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

· Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end

· Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server

· to produce portable libraries that are usable across .NET implementations, using this same set of APIs

· create documents on the World Wide Web using HTML

· Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but, not limited to ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#/VB.NET. Prepare and maintain code for various .Net applications and resolve any defects in systems.
