Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to teach Physical Education and 8th Grade Religion. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes physical fitness, spiritual growth, and academic excellence among students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a background in both physical education and religious studies, along with excellent communication skills to engage students effectively.

Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Physical Education that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Teach 8th Grade Religion curriculum, fostering an understanding of spiritual concepts and values.
  • Utilize various teaching methodologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students in both physical education and religious studies.
  • Incorporate technology into lessons to enhance learning experiences.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing, tutoring sessions, and regular evaluations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and classroom management strategies.
  • Participate in school events, sports coaching, and community outreach programs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with students in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Physical Education principles and practices, including sports coaching techniques.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development for both Physical Education and Religious studies.
  • Ability to teach various subjects including Math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus) as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills for public speaking and engaging with students, parents, and staff.
  • Experience with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Knowledge of literacy education practices to support student learning across subjects.
  • Familiarity with educational administration processes is a plus.
  • Experience in special education or Montessori methods is desirable but not required.
  • Strong writing skills for lesson planning, copy editing, proofreading, and adherence to AP style or Chicago Manual of Style. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,000.00 - $54,048.13 per year
