They promote health and wellness, coach sports, organize events, and ensure students understand the importance of regular exercise. Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning: Create and implement age-appropriate physical education programs and lesson plans that align with state or national standards.
- Instruction and Skill Development: Teach students a variety of physical skills in sports, games, and fitness activities, emphasizing proper technique and safety.
- Health and Wellness Promotion: Educate students on the benefits of regular physical activity, healthy eating habits, and overall well-being.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate student progress through observation, tests, and activities to assess their physical abilities and understanding of fitness concepts.
- Classroom and Equipment Management: Maintain a safe, organized, and supervised learning environment, ensuring proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
- Event Organization: Plan and supervise sports competitions, tournaments, and other extracurricular physical activities.
- Collaboration: Work with other teachers, administrators, and parents to support student development and integrate physical education with other subjects.
