Job Description: Physical Education (PE) Teacher

A Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering structured physical activity programs that promote students’ physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and overall well-being. PE teachers work in elementary, middle, or high schools and may also coach school sports teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instruction & Lesson Planning

• Develop and implement age-appropriate PE curriculum.
• Teach skills in sports, fitness, movement, and health education.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and safety procedures.
• Adapt activities to meet diverse student needs and abilities.

2. Student Development

• Encourage teamwork, leadership, and good sportsmanship.
• Promote lifelong fitness habits and healthy lifestyles.
• Motivate students to participate actively and confidently.

3. Assessment & Evaluation

• Assess student performance and physical progress.
• Monitor participation and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.

4. Classroom & Safety Management

• Ensure safe use of sports equipment and facilities.
• Supervise students during physical activities.
• Enforce school policies and behavior standards.

5. Coaching & Extracurricular Activities

• Coach school sports teams.
• Organize intramural programs and sports events.
• Coordinate athletic competitions and tournaments.

6. Collaboration & Communication

• Communicate with parents about student progress.
• Work with school staff to support student development.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field.
• Teaching certification/licensure (as required by state/country).
• CPR and First Aid certification (often required).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
