Physical Education Teacher (25-26 SY)

We are currently recruiting for the following positions for the 2025-2026 school year:

Position: Physical Education (PE)

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • A Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution. Preferred in Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid teaching license/certification in Physical Education (preferred). Highly Qualified through AEPA/NES testing or equivalent
  • Previous teaching experience preferred; experience working with K-8 students.
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills. Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.

Key Responsibilities/Expectations:Instruction & Curriculum Development:

  • Implement a developmentally appropriate PE curriculum aligned with Arizona State standards.
  • Teach students fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, and sportsmanship across grade levels.
  • Integrate health and wellness concepts, including nutrition, mental well-being, and injury prevention.
  • Modify activities to accommodate students of all skill levels and abilities.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement:

  • Establish a positive, structured, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation.
  • Promote teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship among students.
  • Implement and enforce safety rules to ensure a secure learning environment.
  • Manage equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
  • Actively monitor and supervise student activities to ensure student safety.

Assessment & Student Progress:

  • Evaluate student performance based on participation, effort, skill development, and behavior.
  • Maintain records of student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and school administration.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to adjust instruction and support student growth.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education with other subject areas.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and wellness initiatives.
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and faculty meetings.

Other Duties:

  • Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as structured lunch/recess, sports clubs, field days, and fitness challenges.
  • Support students in developing leadership and cooperative skills through team sports and group activities.
  • Stay current with best practices in physical education, health, and fitness trends.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by your supervisors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, run, and actively engage in physical activity for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry equipment as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Indoor and outdoor settings, including MPR/Cafeteria, playgrounds, and fields.
  • Interaction with students, teachers, administrators, and parents on a daily basis.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55,600.00 - $63,350.00 per year
