Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation MD - Mobile AL

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to conduct independent medical evaluations for veterans. This role focuses on objective assessments to support the disability benefits process and does not involve providing treatment. The physician will review medical records, perform thorough evaluations, and complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and promptly. Assessments may be conducted onsite or via telehealth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze veterans’ medical records through a secure online portal.
• Conduct comprehensive, non-treating evaluations to document current health status.
• Complete and submit VA-specific Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) with attention to accuracy and thoroughness.
• Ensure DBQs are completed and submitted within 24 hours of assessment.
• Assess up to four veterans per day.
• Work a flexible, part-time schedule, one day per week, with the potential for additional telehealth assessments.
• Travel as needed between Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL locations.

Requirements:

• Active MD or DO license with specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
• Board certification in PM&R, Neurological Surgery, or Psychiatry and Neurology preferred; candidates with a completed two-year residency in a relevant specialty will also be considered.
• Strong typing skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in digital documentation and secure medical record review.
• Commitment to providing objective, high-quality assessments that support veterans.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience conducting independent medical evaluations.
• Familiarity with VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires and assessment procedures.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
