Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to conduct independent medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the disability benefits process. This role focuses on objective medical assessments and does not involve providing treatment. The physician will review medical records, perform thorough evaluations, and complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and efficiently. Assessments will be conducted both through telehealth and face-to-face appointments, offering flexibility and the opportunity to serve Veterans in your community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records via a secure online portal.
• Conduct comprehensive, non-treating medical evaluations of Veterans.
• Complete condition-specific Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) based on exam findings and medical records.
• Document all findings in a timely and accurate manner, submitting completed DBQs within 24 hours of evaluation.
• Identify key data points within extensive medical records to inform assessments.
• Serve as a medical fact-finding expert, providing objective opinions without making disability determinations.
• Manage daily workflow efficiently, averaging three evaluations per day.

Requirements:

• Current, active medical license as a Physiatrist.
• Board Certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Neurological Surgery, or Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting complex medical records.
• Strong documentation and typing skills, with the ability to complete electronic forms accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality assessments for Veterans.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience conducting independent medical evaluations.
• Familiarity with VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and processes.
• Comfort with telehealth platforms and digital medical documentation.
