Division: Within the Medical Services Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA

The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.

ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to come and join the team in the Medical Services Department as a Physical Therapist!

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana Physical Therapist license or temporary permit.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Provides skilled Physical Therapy services to early, middle, and late adult clients as referred.
  • Communicates patients progress through written documentation after each treatment session, and ensures that this documentation meets quality management standards.
  • Assist with the acquisition, maintenance, and safe use of PT supplies and equipment.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Attends and participates in monthly departmental meetings.
  • Attends applicable in-service training, workshops, films, or CPTP classes and mandatory annual birth quarter classes in order to maintain/enhance job skills and competency.
  • Participate in education trainings that are mandatory for accreditation and licensure of the facility.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Physical Therapist 1 or a Physical Therapist 2 based on experience
