Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine functional limitations and develop tailored care plans.
- Implement evidence-based physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy, orthopedics, geriatrics, and pediatrics to optimize recovery outcomes.
- Provide hands-on therapy sessions focusing on improving mobility, strength, and flexibility in diverse populations.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings.
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies to maximize effectiveness and safety.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention, and home & community care strategies to support ongoing wellness.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in inpatient hospital settings, outpatient clinics, or home health environments with a focus on patient care.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to inform effective treatment interventions.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical procedures related to physiotherapy practices.
- Experience with EMR systems for documentation and care coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive care plans incorporating discharge planning and community resources.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams effectively. Preferred qualifications include experience in acute care settings, home & community care experience, expertise in orthopedics and geriatrics, as well as familiarity with trigger point therapy techniques.
