Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine functional limitations and develop tailored care plans that promote optimal recovery.
  • Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic exercises to restore mobility and reduce pain.
  • Manage discharge planning processes by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home or community settings.
  • Provide specialized care for pediatric patients, geriatric populations, and individuals with orthopedic or neurological conditions.
  • Document patient progress accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, self-care techniques, and home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment strategies across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and clinic environments.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology essential for accurate assessment and treatment planning.
  • Experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or inpatient units with the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs.
  • Proficiency in developing comprehensive care plans that incorporate discharge planning and community resources.
  • Skilled in providing physiotherapy services across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and neurological conditions.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation, scheduling, and communication within healthcare teams.
  • Hands-on expertise in manual therapy techniques like trigger point therapy to alleviate muscle tension and pain.
