Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment areas and assist with setup of therapy equipment to ensure efficient patient sessions
- Support physical therapists by helping with patient positioning, transfers, and exercises under supervision
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during therapy sessions, providing encouragement and support as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks such as intake procedures, documenting patient information, and updating medical records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy spaces, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols
- Observe and learn from licensed therapists about physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to patient care
- Support outpatient, orthopedics and older adult care services by providing compassionate assistance to diverse patient populations
Experience
- Prior hospital or clinic experience is highly preferred to understand the fast-paced healthcare environment
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology enhances your ability to support clinical staff effectively
- Experience working with patients in acute care or post-acute settings strengthens your understanding of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation processes
- Familiarity with hospital medicine or outpatient clinics related to orthopedics or geriatrics is advantageous
- Previous roles involving patient service and direct care contribute to your ability to provide empathetic support in a clinical setting
- Sub-acute care experience helps develop skills in managing complex recovery needs across various stages of healing
