Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to assist in the rehabilitation of patients with various physical conditions. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring that treatment plans are effectively implemented. The Physical Therapist Assistant will primarily work in a clinical setting, focusing on geriatrics, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and orthopedics.

Duties

  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide hands-on patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with medical standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the therapy area and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation practices.
  • Experience in geriatrics, acute care settings, inpatient rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facilities is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and empathy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
