Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant to provide therapeutic services under the direction of a licensed therapist. This role supports residents in achieving functional goals while ensuring care is delivered safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory and reimbursement standards.
This position is ideal for a licensed Therapy Assistant who values teamwork, documentation accuracy, and quality resident outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient treatments as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Carry out treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and care plans
- Document treatments, resident progress, and daily charges accurately and timely
- Maintain productivity standards as established by the department
- Communicate resident progress, concerns, and changes to supervising therapist
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and utilization reviews
- Instruct residents, families, and nursing staff on restorative or home programs as directed
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of therapy areas and equipment
- Report equipment issues to appropriate personnel
- Participate in facility performance improvement initiatives
- Travel or float between facilities as assigned, based on resident needs
- Maintain compliance with Medicare, reimbursement, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current state licensure or registration as a PTA
- Knowledge of Medicare and reimbursement regulations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Dependable, organized, and patient-focused
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting residents throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to clinical environments and patient care settings
- Ability to manage physical and emotional demands of patient care
