Physical Therapist assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care across outpatient clinics. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, orthopedics, and those recovering from acute or chronic conditions. The PTA will play a vital role in implementing treatment plans, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through skilled therapy interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities to improve mobility, strength, and function.
  • Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in accordance with facility policies and medical terminology standards.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment procedures, home exercises, and discharge instructions to promote continued recovery outside of clinical settings.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and discharge planning efforts.
  • Stay current with physiotherapy techniques and industry best practices through ongoing professional development.

Experience

  • Experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in outpatient clinics.
  • Familiarity with physiotherapy modalities including trigger point therapy, orthopedics, geriatrics, and acute care settings.
  • Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care plans related to rehabilitation processes.
  • Experience supporting patients with diverse needs such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, or post-surgical recovery is preferred.
  • Prior involvement in discharge planning and working within multidisciplinary teams is advantageous. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by supporting their journey toward recovery and improved mobility.

Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
