Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description:
Danny's Home Health Care based in Michigan is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team and to cover the San Diego, CA area. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in home health environments. Your expertise in physical therapy techniques and patient interaction will be essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, including exercise instruction, manual therapy, and trigger point therapy.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Uphold medical terminology standards while communicating effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Support pediatric patients as needed, adapting treatment approaches to meet their unique needs.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for patient care by adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
  • Experience in pediatrics, home health, inpatient, or outpatient settings is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and empathy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in physical therapy.

Pay: $45.00 - $80.00 per hour
