PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physical Therapist Assistants to join our dynamic healthcare team in Lakewood Ranch. With these full time positions, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across various settings. We are looking for one PTA to work in our outpatient orthopedic clinic and one PTA for inpatient acute care hospital. Your expertise will help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ recovery journeys while developing your skills in therapy and patient-centered care. Pay is very competitive and based on your credentials and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing personalized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs, including those in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care settings
  • Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatment, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist for ongoing discharge planning and care adjustments
  • Support patients during therapy sessions by providing encouragement and ensuring proper technique to maximize outcomes
  • Prepare treatment areas and maintain a clean, safe environment in compliance with healthcare standards
  • Educate patients and their families on post-treatment exercises, home health routines, and injury prevention strategies

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the principles of physiotherapy
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and those in inpatient or outpatient settings
  • Familiarity with discharge planning processes and home health protocols to ensure seamless patient transitions
  • Ability to work effectively within an acute care environment with a focus on patient care excellence
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients effectively
  • Prior experience in outpatient clinics and or acute care hospital is highly desirable.
